Children are always welcome at the UN. Therefore, on the occasion of the UN Open Day there will be plenty of activities organized for kids to explore the Palais all day.
The Eduki Foundation is contributing by putting up a stand dedicated to activities for families who want to come with their children. A rally is set up amongst the stands of the different international organisations. In order to complete the rally, the children have to go to each stand and complete questions or play a game prepared for them by the international Geneva. After completing their tasks, they can go back to the stand and be rewarded with a gift!
Moreover, Eduki is providing a ‘Do It Yourself’ workshop for the youngest ones who are invited to come colouring and cutting out paper peacocks. It is an activity where they can learn in a fun way about the 17 SDGs and explore the 2030 Agenda. For children of all ages, Eduki invites those who have participated in the rally and the ‘Do It Yourself’ workshop to join a raffle.
In order to hear the voices of the youth, UNTV in collaboration with the Perception Change Projects team, have organised the Open Day Radio activity, where children will be invited to hold interviews and give their opinion about the SDGs. This show will be broadcasted live from the SDG media cube along screens throughout the Palais.
Other amazing activities are set up to make the day unforgettable for the younger ones, such as a book reading of fairy tales in English and French, a slow race by bike and a quest to achieve the Global Goals. At the SDG cubes, children are invited to find the 34 memory cards which will change the world!
