Music and dance are merging together at the UN Open Day in order to send you some good cultural vibes on Saturday 7th of October!
Make sure you do not miss out on the Thai Mission that will inspire us with a dance performance in the Assembly Hall. They will be performing an improvisation dance on Rak Thai music of the artist Ornauthana Pongprasith. The reason this song was chosen for is because it represents Thailand as a perennial tree, which is related to Thailand’s unique culture, that has been kept alive from generation to generation. The dance performance is followed by the nail-covered dance, a Northern Thai style dance in traditional costumes.
More is yet to come, Armenia is bringing the Naïri string Quintet. The musicians share the same passion for chamber music and they have created many original musical programs ranging from classical composers to Armenian and Georgian folklores. Moreover, Armenia will be familiarizing us with some of their folkloric dances.
Last but not least, Brazil brings us the group Miss Samba Show who presents together with the school ‘Samba no pé’ the best of Brazilian culture and joy.
The Mission of Mozambique will close the program with an original music concert.
If you want to be overwhelmed with dance and musical vibes from different corners of the world, come and join us!
